LIFE GROUP QUESTIONS

Acts 3:1-10

Getting to Know You:
  1. Share a personal experience where you felt "seen" or “heard" while going through a difficult situation. How did that impact you?

Digging Deeper:
  1. Read Acts 3:1-10, John 9:1-12, 17, 24-25, Luke 7:1-10, Luke 17:11-19 and Hebrews 11:6. What are the similarities and differences in the four healings? Discuss the lack of understanding each person had about Jesus when they were healed. Why were these people healed? What are the implications for believers as they pray for healing for others?
  2. Read Acts 3:4-5, Genesis 16:13, Exodus 3:7-8, Psalm 139:1-10 and Samuel 16:7. In the process of the miracle, Peter and John look straight at the lame man and command him to look at them. What does being “seen” represent? What would the implications be if we ‘saw’ people as God sees us?
  3. Read Acts 3:3, Matthew 7:7-11, John 14:13-14, James 1:5-8, James 4:2-3 and 1 John 5:14-15. Peter and John, through the Holy Spirit, gave the lame man something very different from what he was asking for. Why is asking important? How should we ask? What are some possible reasons why the Lord would want to give us something other than what we have asked for?

Taking it Home:
  1. Testimonies are powerful. Consider some testimonies of God’s work in your life. How might you use these God stories to share with those around you? Take a minute to ask God to show you someone you can share a testimony with this week.
