LIFE GROUP QUESTIONS
Getting to Know You:
- What is one of the most powerful group experiences you’ve been a part of? (e.g., a concert, a community event, a special celebration, etc.) How did it impact you?
- Read Acts 2:1-4, Joel 2:28-29 and John 14:16-17. How do these passages help explain the significance of the coming of the Holy Spirit at Pentecost? What do you think it means that the disciples “began to speak in other tongues as the Spirit enabled them”?
- Read Acts 2:5-8, Genesis 11:1-9 and Revelation 7:9-10. How does the ability of the apostles to speak in various languages reverse the confusion of languages at Babel? What does this event tell us about God’s desire for unity and diversity in His Kingdom?
- Read Acts 2:9-13, 1 Corinthians 1:18-25 and Romans 10:12-15. Why do you think some people reacted with amazement, while others mocked the event? What can we learn about the different ways people respond to the message of the gospel?
- How have you experienced the Holy Spirit’s presence in your own life? What can you do to become more aware of His work and guidance in your daily walk?
- The Holy Spirit enabled the disciples to reach people of different cultures and languages. What steps can you take to reach out to people in your life who might be different from you or who have not yet experienced the gospel?
