LIFE GROUP QUESTIONS

Acts 4:13-22 • A Faithful Witness

Getting to Know You:
  • Think of people who inspire you.  What qualities do they have in common?
Digging Deeper:
  • Read Acts 4:13, Exodus 4:10-12, Judges 6:14-16, 1 Samuel 16:4-12, 1 Kings 19:19-21 and Amos 7:14-15.  God often uses ordinary people to do extraordinary things. How and why did God choose to use these people? What made them special?  Share examples from your own experience or people you know who are used powerfully by God.  What makes them special?
  • Read Acts 4:13-22, John 11:45-50 and John 19:12-16.  Why did the leaders reject Jesus?  How did the fear of the crowds affect the rulings of the leaders?  Why was Jesus so dangerous to the religious and political leaders?  Do you think Christianity is again seen as dangerous to America’s leaders?  Why?
  • In Acts 4:13, the religious leaders “took note that these men had been with Jesus.”  Read Matthew 20:28, John 13:34-35, 2 Corinthians 3:18, Galatians 5:22-24, and 2 Timothy 1:7. How can our lives and actions reflect that we have been with Jesus?  What steps can we take to deepen this kind of influence both privately and publicly?
Taking it Home:
  • Many have not shared about God because they feel they ‘don’t know enough’ or aren’t ‘holy enough.’  Have you been such a person?   Have you changed?  If not, ask others in the group to pray for you.
