Study Guide

Walking in the Lord –  Ephesians moves from doctrine to duty to difficulty, reminding us that the Christian life is meant to be lived out in a daily walk. Using the healing in John 5, the message pictures spiritual change as getting up, refusing the old condition, and learning to walk in a new way with Christ.
Something to think about: Where in your life has God been calling you to get up and stop living in an old cycle?

Walk in Love – Because God is love, believers are called to imitate Him as beloved children. Love is not just an emotion but a visible action shaped by Christ’s sacrifice. Real love is patient, selfless, and willing to surrender for the good of others.
Something to think about: What would sacrificial, Christlike love look like in your closest relationships this week?

Walk in Holiness – Because God is holy, His people must be set apart from sin. Paul warns against impurity, crude speech, and covetousness, showing that holiness touches both actions and attitudes. The call is not merely to avoid sin publicly, but to live distinctly as saints who belong to God.
Something to think about: Is there any area of compromise in your life that you need to flee instead of manage?

Walk in Light – Because God is light, believers no longer belong to darkness. Light produces what is good, right, and true, and it also exposes what has been hidden. Our new identity in Christ means we should live openly, fruitfully, and in a way that points others to God’s glory.
Something to think about: What hidden area of darkness needs to be brought into Christ’s light?

Walk in Wisdom – Because God is wise, believers are called to walk carefully and make the best use of their time. Wisdom is more than knowledge; it is God-given discernment that helps us understand His will and live with precision in evil days. As we trust the Lord instead of leaning on ourselves, He directs our path.
Something to think about: Where do you need God’s wisdom right now instead of relying on your own understanding?

Walk in the Holy Spirit – Because God is spirit, the Christian life must be lived in dependence on the Holy Spirit. Paul contrasts being controlled by worldly excess with being filled by the Spirit, which leads to worship, gratitude, and mutual humility. A Spirit-filled life is marked by joy in God and reverence for Christ.
Something to think about: What would it look like for you to live under the Spirit’s control in your daily routines and relationships?
