Getting to Know You:
  1. If you think about the idea, “You become what you feed,” what is one habit, influence, or routine in your life that has noticeably shaped who you are—for better or worse?

Digging Deeper:
  1. Read Ephesians 4:17–24; Romans 1:21–22, 26, 28; and Hebrews 3:12–13. What progression of steps led humanity from knowing God to becoming spiritually blind and deeply entrenched in sin? How do sin and unchecked desires blind both believers and unbelievers alike? In what practical ways can we guard our hearts and prevent ourselves from falling away?
  2. Read Romans 12:1–2 and Ephesians 4:23–32. What does it mean for a believer to be renewed in the mind, and what does this renewal look like in everyday life? What core beliefs or thought patterns must change when someone begins to renew their mind? How does transformed thinking empower and enable us to live out the new life Christ has given us?
  3. Read Ephesians 4:24, 32. God’s goal is for believers to reflect the character of Jesus. When we consider His commands to love our enemies (Matthew 5:44), to give generously (Matthew 5:42), and to forgive others (Matthew 6:14), we quickly realize that His calling is radical and demanding.
  4. Would you agree with the statement, “The Christian life is a call to live the impossible”? Why or why not? How would you encourage and challenge someone who views the Christian life in this way?

Taking it Home:
  1. What is one specific “old garment” (habit, mindset, relationship, or pattern of sin) that the Holy Spirit may be calling you to take off this week—and what practical step will you take to “put on” the new self in its place?
