Getting to Know You
- Do you feel the events of your past have helped equip you for the present?
Digging Deeper
- Read Romans 11:13–24 and Ephesians 3:1–13. What is the mystery Paul is referring to in Ephesians 3:6? Why should this revelation humble us? How does a revelation of the ways God works—through election, hardening Israel, and grafting in the Gentiles—stretch or impact how you view God?
- Read Ephesians 3:1, 13 and Philippians 1:7, 12–18, and 4:10–13. How did Paul view his suffering and imprisonment? Why is suffering such an important tool of the Lord? What are some of the different benefits it brings? What is the outcome if we do not respond well to suffering?
- Read Galatians 2:6–10, Ephesians 3:7–9, and Philippians 3:4–6. Consider the life of Paul. What events from his past helped shape him into a humble, equipped, and powerful church leader? Why do our greatest failures often become God’s greatest triumphs?
Taking It Home
- What has God been doing in this season of your life? Have you been partnering with Him in His work, or resisting?
