STUDY GUIDE

The Work of Man (Ephesians 2:1-3) – Paul lays out the condition of humanity apart from Christ: spiritually dead, enslaved to sin, and under God’s wrath.
Something to think about: How have you seen evidence of spiritual “deadness” in your own life before coming to Christ—or even now?

Death by the World, the Enemy, and the Flesh – Influences like culture, temptation, and selfish desires drive us further from God without us realizing it.
Something to think about: Which of these influences—world, enemy, or flesh—do you find most challenging to resist today?

The Work of God (Ephesians 2:4-7) – “But God…” changes everything. Out of mercy, love, and grace, God makes us alive with Christ.
Something to think about: What is your “But God” story—when did God interrupt your mess with His mercy?

Saved by Grace, Through Faith (Ephesians 2:8-10) – Salvation isn’t earned; it’s received by grace and accessed through faith.
Something to think about: Do you sometimes fall back into trying to “earn” God’s favor? How does understanding grace change that?

God’s Workmanship (Ephesians 2:10) – We are not saved by good works, but we are saved for them—created with purpose in Christ.
Something to think about: What good works has God prepared for you to walk in today?
