- How is it that a young believer and a mature believer can both be fed by the same Scripture? How has your understanding of God’s word grown?
Digging Deeper:
- Read Isaiah 40:8, Isaiah 55:11, Matthew 5:17-18, Matthew 24:35 and John 14:26. What does the Bible claim about itself? How can the miraculous preservation of the Scriptures be used as an apologetic when witnessing to the lost?
- Read Psalm 18:30, Psalm 119:9, Psalm 119:105-107, Proverbs 30:5, John 8:31-32 and 2 Timothy 3:16-17. Why did the Scriptures need to be accurately preserved? What would be the result if they weren’t?
- Read Joshua 4:4-7, Ezekiel 36:22-24, John 13:35 and John 17:23. Consider some of the many different pieces of evidence that point to God from science, archeology, the composition and preservation of the Bible, fulfilled prophecies, the miraculous rebirth of Israel as a nation and the work of regeneration. As with looking at a crime scene, how do these wide arrays of evidence help to strengthen the case for Christianity? Why do you think, as with the stones with Joshua, we need reminders of what God has done among us?
